Description
Dental AssistantÂ
This 240-hour program consists of 200 hours of classroom instruction and a 40-hour externship, completed during the
program. The externship may be waived if the student has a job as a dental assistant and already has 16 hours of practical
experience, verified by a signed letter from their supervisor. This program trains students to assist dentists using four-handed
dentistry techniques. The curriculum covers dental anatomy, lab equipment, dental radiography, coronal polishing, and
preventive/restorative dentistry. Upon completion, the school hosts a scheduled seminar including the Arkansas Registered
Dental Assistant exam. The seminar also includes training in Dental Radiography, Coronal Polishing, and Nitrous Oxide
administration/monitoring, as permitted by the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners.
