Description

All students are required to attend for 160 hours to graduate.  Students will be tested for their Road/Skills test at 282 CDL Academy with State Licensed Third Party Testers.  Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.


CT 101 Week 1-Classroom (Monday-Friday) 40 hours


At Monday’s orientation, students will become familiar with the policies and procedures of the school and go over expectations for the next 15 days.  Classroom training will include, but is not limited to:



  • General knowledge

  • Air Brake

  • Combination Vehicle


Upon completion of the classroom training, students will be taking their CDL permit test off-site.


YT 101-Week 2-Field Training (Monday-Friday) 80-90 hours


Field training will allow our students to have hands-on training with both trucks and trailers on site.  Field training will include, but is not limited to:



  • Pre-trip inspection-completed everyday

  • Straight-line baking

  • 45 degree angle back

  • Offset back-left and right

  • Coupling and uncoupling

  • Sliding fifth wheel and tandems

  • Homework-Pre-trip inspection


RT 101-Week 3-Road Training (Monday-Friday) 32-40 hours


The last 55 hours are split between road training and field training.  Students will train on a variety of roads, such as highways, city, and rural areas. Road training will include, but is not limited to: 



  • Highway driving

  • City driving

  • Right and left turns

  • Safety procedures, space, and speed management

  • Defensive driving techniques, extreme driving conditions, emergency maneuvers

  • Baking-straight line and offset

Any applicable refund will be returned to the student or individual whose payment was received within 30 days after a signed withdrawal form is completed or dismissal for cause.  Failure to show up for class does not constitute withdrawal.
