Description
ANC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paramedic. The Paramedic Program is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). The program also meets the requirements of the Arkansas Department of Health, Section of Emergency Medical Services. The ANC general education courses may be taken prior to or after completion of the Paramedic courses. These courses prepare students to pursue the bachelor’s degree and to assist graduates with job promotions and leadership roles in the EMS profession. Students must apply and be selected into the ANC Paramedic Program before enrolling in the required courses in sequence as scheduled. These courses include a
combination of hybrid courses (classroom and on-line), didactic, clinical and field experiences to provide the Paramedic student with the diversity of knowledge necessary to function effectively as a professional provider of advanced life support outside of the hospital environment. Students wishing to apply to the Paramedic Program should discuss their career objectives with the Nursing and Allied Health Advisor to ensure this is the appropriate program to meet their career goals. Admission criteria: Refer to Technical Certificate in Paramedic.
