Description
Successful completion of the Nursing Assistant program qualifies students to work as nursing assistants in hospitals, long term care facilities, rest homes or convalescent homes. The Nursing Assistant Competency Exam offered through the Office of Long Term Care provides opportunity for those successfully completing the NA program to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Students must also complete a medical terminology course as part of the Nursing Assistant curriculum. This course provides structural analysis, suffixes, pronunciation, pluralization, and spelling of medical terms. Students must complete the both courses with a grade of “C” or better. Refer to Nursing Assistant Information Guidelines located in the ANC Allied Health Website for additional information.
