Arkansas State University-Beebe offers two Practical Nursing programs which integrate clinical learning experiences with classroom theory specific to the role of the Practical Nurse. The Arkansas State Board of Nursing has granted full approval to the Practical Nursing program. The Practical Nursing Program prepares individuals for the practice of Licensed Practical Nursing. To become an LPN an individual must successfully complete all of the courses and pass the National Council Licensure Examination. The program integrates clinical experience with classroom theory. The students obtain clinical experience in hospitals and nursing homes. Following completion of all requirements LPNs may find work in a variety of situations. For example graduates of this program are now employed in hospitals nursing homes doctor s offices public health departments and various government programs.
