Phlebotomy Technician/Phlebotomist. 511009

Description

Phlebotomy Technician

This 64-hour program consists of 48 hours of classroom instruction and a 16-hour externship, which will provide hands-on
experience in a real-world medical setting, completed during the program. Students should be prepared to attend the
externship. The externship may be waived if the student has a job as a phlebotomist and already has 16 hours of practical
experience, verified by a signed letter from their employer. This program trains students to collect and prepare blood
samples from adults, infants, and children for medical and clinical testing. These tests are used to help verify overall health
and diagnose medical conditions. Phlebotomy Technicians find employment in hospitals, medical and diagnostic
laboratories, medical clinics, and blood donor centers.
