Job Description
Industrial Engineer II needed by Lennox Industries Inc. in Stuttgart AR.
DUTIES: Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to analyze, improve, and control manufacturing processes by reducing waste, minimizing variation, and shortening cycle times. Perform capacity analysis, line balancing, and takt‑time calculations to align production output with customer demand and to optimize labor and equipment utilization. Conduct value‑stream mapping to evaluate end‑to‑end material and information flow, identifying bottlenecks and non‑value‑added activities. Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on eliminating the eight wastes and improving throughput, productivity, and operational efficiency. Design and optimize material‑flow layouts using Lean approaches such as one‑piece flow, FIFO systems, supermarket structures, and point‑of‑use storage to ensure smooth production movement. Conduct time studies, work sampling, and motion studies to enhance labor efficiency, remove unnecessary movement, and standardize work content. Develop and implement standard work, including detailed work instructions, visual controls, and digital SOPs, to reduce process variation and improve consistency. Redesign assembly‑line layouts to improve ergonomics, safety, and productivity using Lean workstation principles and ergonomic risk‑assessment tools. Process and manage engineering change notices to ensure timely implementation into manufacturing processes. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to apply Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly. Support quality initiatives through root‑cause analysis using methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain process documentation, control plans, and continuous‑improvement records to support audits and compliance. Monitor key performance indicators including cycle time, throughput, first‑pass yield, and on‑time delivery, and lead improvement actions when targets are unmet. Conduct workplace‑safety inspections and ergonomic assessments using Intelex and Tumeke to identify hazards, analyze incident trends, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, and completion of a university-level course, research project, thesis, internship and/or 6 months of experience involving the following:
- Microsoft suite including Excel, Access, Word, Power point;
- Statistical Analysis using hypothesis testing, regression analysis, control charts, design of experiments (DOE), ANOVA, capability analysis (Cp/Cpk), and measurement system analysis (MSA);
- Cycle and Takt time calculations including line balancing; and
- Quality tools including FMEA, Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, SPC, process mapping, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and value stream mapping, and data driven decision making.
