Job Description
Maverick Tube Corporation in Blytheville, AR seeks a Base Maintenance Group Supervisor I to develop and supervise the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Plan. Ensure systematic failure, problem, and performance analysis on equipment, defining corrective actions, and generating improvement opportunities. Support the Engineering area in the research and assessment of the best equipment available and the startup of new pieces of equipment. Optimize reliability and maintainability of equipment by defining the maintenance strategy for each system and providing technical support to emergency crews and staff areas. Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Perform and oversee inspections in area of responsibility. Perform lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures on all equipment in area of responsibility. Perform electrical and electronic inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and component replacements. Conduct low-and medium-voltage panel repairs, load Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs, and carry out AC motor speed control operations. Guarantee technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock. Draw up the maintenance cost budget and keep costs within agreed limits. Ensure the application of health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards and practices. Coordinate and execute compliance with inspection plans and basic preventive maintenance. Instruct team members and induct new hires on basic maintenance issues and maintenance tasks. Manage maintenance related information, updating maintenance reporting systems, and shift-log. Follow up repairs ensuring the performed work effectiveness. Monitor, understand, and troubleshoot alarms and permissions in PLCs. Detect abnormalities on field sensors, actuators, PLC components, PLC sequencers, motors, and variable speed drives.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or closely related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related occupation performing each of the following: leading technical teams in operating and/or maintaining heavy steel manufacturing steel systems using PLC hardware and software, including Rockwell Allen Bradley hardware and RSLogix, ControlNet, and Ethernet-based PLC systems; developing preventive maintenance programs for weekly and daily maintenance inspections; troubleshooting, replacing, and maintaining electrical AC motors; servicing pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, filters, tank instrumentation, heat exchangers, and recirculation circuits; maintaining torque transmission equipment and systems; repairing and operating centralized and non-centralized lubrication systems; performing vibration analysis; conducting root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Fault Tree Analysis; using precision instruments to verify mechanical integrity and dimensions of equipment parts; and using SAP to manage and control the maintenance environment.
