Aerotek is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician for a steel manufacturing company located in Blytheville, AR. This position is a direct hire opportunity paying $29-$32/hr depending on experience and will work 1st shift (4 10 hour shifts). Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and improving plant machinery and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and support new equipment installations in a demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform preventative maintenance on all plant machinery to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.

+ Review the operation of plant equipment and systems regularly to evaluate the need for maintenance, repair, or improvement.

+ Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems using effective root cause analysis to resolve issues quickly and safely.

+ Maintain a low percentage of maintenance-related downtime by responding promptly to equipment problems and implementing long-term fixes.

+ Complete accurate and timely work order documentation, including parts used, work performed, and follow-up requirements.

+ Monitor and maintain control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection systems, and mechanical bearing systems to ensure reliable operation.

+ Inventory, track, and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies needed to support maintenance activities.

+ Assist with the installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment as needed by plant operations.

+ Perform facilities maintenance as directed by plant leadership, including repairs and upkeep of building systems and infrastructure.

+ Use measuring tools such as tape measures, Rockwell testers, micrometers, and calipers to verify equipment and product specifications.

+ Read and interpret material tags, production instructions, schematics, and other technical documents to perform accurate maintenance and repairs.

+ Apply and follow all safety rules and requirements while working on equipment, systems, and within the plant.

+ Use critical thinking and time management skills to prioritize tasks, plan work efficiently, and support production schedules.

+ Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, recommending solutions, and participating in maintenance education programs.

Essential Skills

+ At least 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.

+ Demonstrated troubleshooting and industrial repair skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and facility systems.

+ Knowledge of steel production processes and quality standards.

+ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance requirements.

+ Knowledge of motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection systems, and mechanical bearing systems.

+ Ability to perform basic arithmetic to support measurements, calculations, and parts usage.

+ Knowledge of and ability to comply with plant safety rules and requirements.

+ Ability to accurately use tape measures, Rockwell testers, micrometers, and calipers.

+ Ability to read and understand material tags, production instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.

+ Ability to see details at close range to perform precise inspections and measurements.

+ Strong critical thinking skills to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.

+ Effective time management skills to organize and prioritize maintenance activities.

+ Experience with PLC troubleshooting.

+ Ability to perform welding tasks as part of maintenance and repair work.

+ Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Formal technical education in maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field is beneficial; relevant experience and training may substitute when competency is demonstrated.

+ Experience with preventive maintenance programs in heavy industrial or metals manufacturing environments.

+ Familiarity with fire protection systems and their maintenance requirements.

+ Comfort working with non-climate controlled, heavy industrial equipment and processes.

+ Interest in participating in a Maintenance Education Program to expand technical skills and knowledge.

Work Environment

The work environment is a heavy industrial, non-climate controlled plant that can be hot, dirty, and messy, requiring comfort working in demanding physical conditions. You will work around steel production processes, large machinery, and complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role involves frequent use of tools and test equipment such as tape measures, Rockwell testers, micrometers, calipers, and welding equipment, as well as interaction with motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection systems, and mechanical bearing systems. Uniforms are provided, typically from day one for maintenance roles, to support safety and durability in this environment. Safety rules and procedures are a core part of daily operations, and you will be expected to follow all guidelines while working on equipment and within the facility.

The pay range for this position is $60320.00 – $66560.00/yr.
