We are seeking a Tax Subject Matter Expert (SME) with experience supporting sales and use tax processes in a large enterprise environment. This individual will play a key role in a tax modernization initiative, helping validate tax configurations and ensure compliance as new eCommerce and brick-and-mortar business capabilities go live. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Vertex, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of sales tax rates, taxability rules, and jurisdictional tax requirements. This role will be responsible for conducting first-level reviews of tax setups, researching discrepancies, and partnering with internal tax teams to ensure accurate implementation across multiple states and jurisdictions.

Skills and Requirements

-4+ years of experience in sales and use tax, indirect tax, or tax compliance.

-Experience working with Vertex tax software.

-Strong Excel skills, including tracking, analyzing, and validating data.

-Experience with OneSource (sales tax or property tax modules).

-Understanding of tax codes, taxability rules, jurisdictional tax rates, and compliance requirements.
