Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:A Medical Laboratory Scientist I - Hematology performs routine and complex laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This entry-level professional operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation, ensures accurate and timely test results, follows quality control and regulatory standards, and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree from regionally accredited university in medical technology, medical laboratory science, chemistry, or biology.
Eligible for ASCP or equivalent certification. Must obtain certification within 12 months of eligibility.

Conduct analysis of blood, urine, spinal fluid, body fluids and other biological samples to determine presence of normal and abnormal components in assigned section(s).
Perform quality controls or quality check materials and perform corrective action as required.
Enter test results and other data related to analysis and communication of results into relevant computer information systems or other document archival systems.
