We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Regulatory Finance & Rates. This role may be hybrid-based in one of our offices in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri or Maine or fully remote in Texas.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role will develop and direct regulatory outreach, rates filings, and regulatory filings required at the state level for assigned jurisdictions. Handle the development of regulatory policies and initiatives supporting business strategies, including the development, and filing of rate case applications. Lead the preparation, presentation, and reporting of information for internal decision-making and filings with the appropriate Commissions. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all rate making activities for assigned jurisdictions.
  • Function as primary witness on rate and regulatory related filings at the local regulatory commissions.
  • Provide advice to the company’s management on emerging regulations and developments in industry.
  • Develop tactics to maximize recovery rate of prudently incurred capital and operating expenses.
  • Provide leadership to the regulatory team. Work toward high levels of employee engagement.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience 
  • 7+ years' finance, accounting, regulatory or related experience
  • Utility ratemaking experience required. 
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES 

    • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability.
    • Must have the ability to develop relationships and build credibility quickly.
    • Demonstrated success in consulting effectively with all levels of management including executives.
    • Must possess the ability to influence others without direct position power to earn credibility and trust.
    • Business partner mentality with ability to educate basic financial concepts to stakeholders.
    • Strong ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects successfully while maintaining an even-keel approach and commitment to deadlines.
    • Ability to conduct and interpret complex quantitative/qualitative analysis.
    • Proven ability to communicate complex financial concepts and data in an understandable manner, in written and oral presentation formats, to all levels of management and staff.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with SAP a plus.
