Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Baker to prepare a variety of breads, pastries, and baked goods to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of professional experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for production, quality control, and maintaining consistency in freshness, taste, and presentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS General
Prepare and bake breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other items according to established recipes and standards. Measure, mix, and monitor baking processes, adjusting as needed to ensure quality. Decorate and finish products for display and sale. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly care for equipment.
Manage ingredient inventory and communicate needs to management. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company standards at all times. Maintain knowledge of recipes, portioning, and preparation procedures. Contribute to recipe development and product consistency.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of scratch baking, including breads and pastries. Remain hands-on in daily production while adapting to changing demands. Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Support team operations and assist in other areas as needed.
Financial
Maintain awareness of food and supply cost controls. Follow company standards to minimize waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients and resources.
Food Safety and Planning
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas. Monitor product quality, portion control, and presentation standards, addressing any inconsistencies with management.
Follow all ServSafe guidelines (certification preferred). Maintain proper preparation levels to reduce waste and ensure product availability.
Guest Service
Communicate effectively with team members and guests when needed. Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive guest experience through product quality and teamwork.
Operational Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and secure work environment for employees and guests. Follow all safety procedures and report incidents promptly. Support operational planning while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Community Involvement
Support the restaurant’s presence in the local community through professionalism and positive representation of the brand.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of professional baking experience with a focus on breads and pastries required. Culinary training preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, inventory control, and kitchen operations required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, be eligible to work in the United States, and agree to background and credit checks.

Self-motivated with strong initiative and attention to detail. Professional, reliable, and able to maintain a clean and organized appearance.
Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motion. Work is performed in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment.
