Job Description
The Food Bank Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of USDA commodities and other food products to designated distribution sites across ARVAC’s nine-county service area. This position primarily works the first ten (10) business days of each month operating the agency’s food bank truck and assisting with on-site distribution directly to clients.
*The following job junctions are not all-inclusive. Job duties may change as required by needs of the agency. You will assume the responsibility of assuring that you working under to understand your role in accomplishing the strategic goals and performance measures of the Agency.
Job Specifications
• Safely operate the ARVAC food bank truck to transport commodities to scheduled distribution sites.
• Complete deliveries to distribution locations throughout the nine-county service area during the first 10 days of each month.
• Load and unload food products, ensuring proper handling and food safety standards are maintained.
• Assist with on-site commodity distribution, including directly handing out food items to clients.
• Provide courteous and respectful customer service to all clients and community partners.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and required documentation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness and proper storage conditions for transported goods.
• Assist with warehouse organization and inventory as needed
