Job Description
Position Summary:
Academic Success Coach: the primary point of contact for a select group of students admitted through the Transition Studies program. The Academic Success Coach will motivate, advise, and assist with retention efforts from enrollment through graduation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide student support from enrollment through graduation
- Serve as primary academic advisor until students declare majors
- Mentor, motivate, & work to resolve barriers to student success
- Work collaboratively with colleges and departments to ensure student success
- Teach FYE courses
- Track student progress
- Provide career prep and planning
- Identify at-risk students & facilitate needed support
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of computer programs and systems
Ability to advise and counsel students
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
Other:

Must develop good working relationships with service areas on campus and work well with faculty in Transition Studies
Occasional work other than normal office hours and occasional in-and-out-of-state travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, College Student Personnel Services, Education or a related field
