Job Description
Seasonal/Temporary work from 3/1/2026 - 12/31/2026
Capture mature fish, induce spawn, and collect eggs and sperm; Manage egg incubation processes and monitor water temperature and oxygen levels; Care for newly hatched fish (fry), including feeding and water quality management; Separate fish based on size and health for different rearing stages; Regularly test water parameters like temperature, pH, dissolved
oxygen, and ammonia levels; Dispense appropriate feed to fish according to their developmental stage; Observe fish for signs of disease and administer necessary treatments if needed; Clean tanks, ponds, and other hatchery equipment; Track fish populations, growth rates, and other relevant data; Transport fish to holding facility.
Work schedules may vary, and employees may be assigned to rotating shifts, including evening or weekend work as needed. Duties may change during the workday depending on pond and weather conditions or other needs. Workers will perform a variety of general fish farm labor tasks as assigned, consistent with the job description and within the certified hours.
