Job Description
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins
and augers; Walk fields to pull weeds; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set
up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled
machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and
harvest grain and forage; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to
market or storage facilities;Operating and maintaining forestry equipment and related shop and site duties.
Crops/Commodities: logging. Workers will perform operations associated with felling and moving trees and logs from
the stump to the point of delivery, such as, but not limited to, marking danger trees and trees/logs to be cut to length,
felling, limbing, bucking, debarking, chipping, yarding, loading, unloading, storing, and transporting machines,
equipment and personnel to, from and between logging sites. Clean, maintain and perform minor repairs to equipment.
Clean and maintain work areas. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able
to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Workers expected to perform basic
duties in a proficient manner without close supervision. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honeybees, insecticides,
herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Clean work areas and
maintain grounds and landscaping; Attend to live farm animals including cattle by calving, processing, feeding, sorting;
Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools; Speak and understand
English.
