Job Description
Position Summary:
Candidate must have an earned doctorate in Exercise Science or a related field (ABD considered). University teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a range of courses in the undergraduate BS and graduate MS Exercise Science programs, which may include but are not limited to: Exercise Physiology, Human Anatomy, Kinesiology, Exercise Prescription (general and for special populations), Cardiovascular Physiology, Biomechanics, Techniques of Physiological Fitness Assessment, and Practicum/Pre-Internship.
In addition to teaching, faculty members in tenure-track positions are expected to develop and sustain an active research agenda that contributes to the discipline and supports the university’s R2 mission. Responsibilities also include participation in service to the department, university, community, and profession, and engagement in shared governance. This is a nine-month appointment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach a standard load of up to 12 credit hours per semester.
 - Develop and maintain a program of scholarly research and publication in Exercise Science or related areas.
 - Pursue external funding opportunities to support research and/or student engagement.
 - Provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
 - Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment.
 - Participate in service activities at the department, college, university, and professional levels.
 - Maintain professional development to ensure currency in teaching and research areas.

· Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
· Evidence of or potential for establishing a sustained research agenda in Exercise Science or related fields.
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students across diverse backgrounds.
· Capacity to contribute to the mission of an R2 institution through research, teaching, and service

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Earned doctorate in Exercise Science or a closely related field (ABD considered, with degree completion required by the appointment date).
· Evidence of research productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, presentations) and/or potential to secure external funding.
· University-level teaching experience (preferred).
