Job Description

Position Summary:

Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a faculty position in veterinary microbiology and immunology. This is a 12 month, full time, tenure or teaching track position at the Assistant Professor rank and will include expectations of teaching, research, and service. Teaching of DVM students will be in a competency-based veterinary curriculum incorporating lecture, lab and small group learning.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to competency-based veterinary curriculum development with a focus on immunology and microbiology
  • Coordinate the microbiology course in the veterinary curriculum
  • Teach in foundational sciences courses, including immunology and microbiology 
  • Develop and maintain an extramurally-funded research program 
  • Mentor and advise DVM students, graduate students, +/- post-doctoral trainees in scientific investigation
  • Contribute to college and university committees and/or serve on regional or national professional organizations
  • Other duties as assigned

· Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff
· Ability to communicate effectively across CVM stakeholders
· Ability to prioritize tasks, deliver results in a timely manner, and function independently

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
