Job Description
SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Survey Team Lead Data Scientist provides advanced statistical support for quality improvement initiatives, surveys, and HEDIS-related projects. This role involves leading data analysis efforts, developing measurement techniques, and coordinating data activities across teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. All tasks of Data Scientist I and II
2. Lead the development of survey data sampling frames and plans to meet project goals.
3. Export and manipulate large datasets using SAS for analysis and quality assurance purposes; ensure data accuracy and completeness.
4. Conduct statistical analyses and interpret results using SAS and other tools as a lead analyst and for quality assurance processes.
5. Develop visual tools such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to support data-driven decision making for external clients and internal quality assurance processes.
6. Prepare and present survey summary reports to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Coordinate and oversee the development and distribution of surveys.
8. Design and implement standardized tools and processes for tracking survey data collection.
9. Review timelines regularly to ensure deliverable deadlines are met as part of quality assurance processes.
10. Collaborate with IT and data entry teams to manage data collection timelines and module updates.
11. Resolve data anomalies and technical issues in collaboration with IT and analysts.
12. Mentor Data Scientist I & II team members; assist and support management with oversight of project deliverables.
13. Verify survey data integrity and maintain databases as needed.
14. Train survey analysts on documentation standards and data collection techniques.
15. Recommend enhancements to statistical methods and product offerings that support departmental quality efforts.
16. Ensure compliance with AFMC protocols, certified survey standards, and contractual obligations.
17. Maintain data confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
18. Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and training sessions for staff and community stakeholders; ensure alignment with organizational and project goals and evaluate effectiveness to inform continuous improvement
19. Facilitate and lead focus group sessions to gather qualitative data and inform project development.
20. Communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
21. Provide clear, concise, and useful information about business users' technology needs and experiences.
22. Perform specialized functions of the assigned area as required or directed.
23. Perform additional duties as assigned.
