Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:Medical Assistant is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. The MA works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The MA must pass the required competencies.
The MA works within the Department of Nursing standards. The MA adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School, GED PLUS, Completion of Medical Assistant training program.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPR Certified/Licensed.
Experience in an ambulatory care setting.
Health Care Experience. Patient Care Experience. Certified Nursing Assistant or Military
Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability.

Provides direct patient care by acquiring medical history, vital signs, and lab samples.
Communicates with nursing staff regarding changes in the patient's condition and maintains an adequate level of supplies required for patient care.
