Job Description
Position Summary:
The School of Nursing invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner option in the ACEN-accredited Master of Science in Nursing Program. Participation in teaching, student advising, & professional service expected. The position is a full-time (12-month) non-tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor. This position will begin August 16, 2025.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teaching
- actively participates in the development and evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical experiences, and test construction
- is responsible for didactic courses and/or clinical group size appropriate to the area of clinical practice
- Plans and supervises clinical seminars
- Establishes effective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinical agencies
- continues education for professional growth
- Participates in academic advising and guidance of students
- Service
- maintains office hours as required by the college (at least 5 virtual hours per week)
- participates in the faculty organization and appropriate program, college, and university activities
- serves on assigned program, college, and university committees
- sponsors and promotes planned activities of students, programs, colleges, and universities as requested
- contributes to the community through involvement in and/or consultation with health-related organizations, board memberships, or professional presentations to the public
- Participates in planning for the continued growth and progress of the program through faculty and student recruitment and retention efforts
- holds membership and participates in organizations that advance the profession of nursing and advanced practice nursing, such as the ANA, NACNS, or other professional organizations
Other duties as assigned
This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position.
