Job Description

Under general guidance of the Parks and Recreation Director performs a variety of routine and complex clerical, secretarial and administrative work in keeping official records, providing administrative support, and assisting in providing information to the public on a broad range of programs, services, issues, and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Greets and receives the public in a professional and friendly manner, answering inquiries concerning programs, services, policies, etc.
  2. Performs routine clerical and administrative work in answering phones, providing customer assistance, making copies, cashiering, data processing, etc.
  3. Assists with special projects; advertises and promotes each one.
  4. Assists with scheduling banquets, meetings, and all activities for the Parks facilities, assures room set-up is correct.
  5. Composes, types, and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness.
  6. Assists in the purchasing of department materials and supplies.
  7. Operates a vehicle to run errands as needed.
  8. Assists in maintaining a daily cash balance and balancing cash on hand with receipts.
  9. Assists with room and event set-ups, cleaning, and trash removal.
  10. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
