Summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, 350 N. Humphreys Blvd., Memphis, Tennessee (“Baptist”) is seeking an experienced and dynamic health law attorney to join our in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in healthcare regulations and a passion for navigating complex legal challenges in this rapidly evolving field.

Responsibilities

- Provide counsel on clinical research matters and advise Baptist Institutional Review Board and Clinical Research Institute

- Advise Baptist and its hospitals and healthcare providers on regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute

- Draft and negotiate complex healthcare contracts and agreements

- Stay abreast of changes in healthcare laws and regulations to proactively guide clients

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Qualifications

- J.D. degree and active bar membership or eligible for bar membership in Arkansas, Mississippi, or Tennessee

- 2+ years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to transactional and regulatory work

- Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations

- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

- 5+ years of experience in health law, preferably with a mix of transactional and regulatory work

- Mississippi bar membership

- Prior experience in-house at a healthcare organization or healthcare-related government agency

- Specific expertise in areas like clinical research, higher education law, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute or general and professional liability claims.
