Job Description
STEM Teacher (Grades 4-8): Educate students; Establish & enforce rules of behavior in classroom; Protect students, equipment, materials, & facilities; Prepare lessons, units & projects to complete learning objectives; Assist in selecting of books, equipment, & other instructional materials; Prepare & instruct assigned classes; Establish & communicate clear objectives for lessons, units & projects; Adapts teaching methods & materials to meet the interests & learning styles & capabilities of students; Create, assign & grade various assessments for students, including tests, quizzes, essays and projects; Track & evaluate students’ academic progress; Lead parent/teacher meetings; Maintain positive relationships w/ students, parents, coworkers & supervisors; Manage students’ behavior; Create & maintain a safe, respectful & inclusive classroom environment; Attend & participate in professional, in-service, & faculty meetings; Plan & supervise assignments for teacher aids &/or lab assistants; Maintains accurate, complete & correct records as required by law, district policy & administrative regulations. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, or closely-related field & State teaching license (includes temporary licensure or temporary waiver).
