Job Description

Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team in Southaven, Mississippi. In this role, you will be a vital part of our accounting/finance department, working directly with accounting staff at individual operating companies and assisting in the preparation of internal financial statements in accordance with GAAP. This role involves a willingness to travel around the Southeast to other locations.


- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, AR, A/P, General Ledger, Inventory, Revenue Recognition, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.

- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

- Oversee the production of monthly financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

- Support month-end and year-end close process.

- Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management.

- Create and assist in the formulation of Cash Flow forecasting for the operating companies as well as total company roll up.

- Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

- Work with external auditors and provide needed information for the annual audit.

- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

- Assist with preparation of bank reporting package and board presentations.

- Research technical accounting issues as needed.

- Oversee accounting staff at individual locations. Requirements – Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

- Proficient in managing all Accounting Functions

- Demonstrated expertise in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Skilled in conducting Auditing processes and reports

- Proven experience in overseeing Budget Processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance

- Knowledge of Construction Accounting is essential

- Must have experience in managing WIP – Work In Progress

- Strong communication and leadership skills

- Proficiency in using accounting software and other related financial systems

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; a master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
