Job Purpose and Impact

The Capital Engineer will supervise and execute the overall technical engineering and design of plant projects as well as the plant’s project portfolio for the Springdale facility. In this role, you will lead a team to execute all aspects of capital projects, including determining project scope, preparing bid documents, ensuring bidding process is followed, etc. over project lifecycles.

Key Accountabilities

+ Manage all in-house capital projects and the project portfolio to timely and economically implement and develop these projects in compliance with regulatory codes, area standards, and specific technology needs

+ Select, lead, and direct both external service providers and internal support teams to reach project objectives

+ Oversee the development of estimates to track progress against project budget as well as establish and assess project objectives and performance goals

+ Coordinate input from support teams and subject matter experts to ensure project designs meet the specific needs of the business

+ Partner with regional and global leadership to identify work process enhancements and oversee change management for capital projects

+ Lead and develop a team, coach, and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions

+ Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

+ Right to work in the United States that is not based solely on the possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third party employer

+ Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

+ Minimum of one year of directly related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience partnering with third party resources to deliver business results

+ Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards and international standards and codes related to build projects and construction safety

+ One year of supervisory experience

+ Experience working in a food or poultry processing environment
