Job Description

Duties: Develops data models (algorithms, approaches) for multiple projects within a business area or category to drive business results and value. Collaborates with project team to implement modeling solutions. Proof of Concept and Prototype: Manages the development and implementation of prototypes and production-ready complex algorithms for multiple projects. Manages the testing and validation process to monitor the solution. Collaborates with Advanced Analytics Experts to develop new data analysis techniques. Consults with senior leadership/ business partners (e.g., Sr. Directors/Directors) to understand goals/functional objectives, understand and identify key business issues and formulate ideas to mitigate current and future business challenges/issues; confirms functional research objectives and oversees development of tactical research plans. Manages the creation of and presents actionable recommendations to Sr. Directors/Directors to contribute to business results. Serves as a subject matter expert to the business on market insights. Owns multiple projects end-to-end for a business area, category, or prototype. Manages risk associated with implementation. Manages the development and application of advanced analytics to address unique business and technical problems, and support data-driven decision making. Makes strategic recommendations to analytics leadership based on data analysis. Supports more experienced team members with the development of data analysis strategies; participates in strategy development conversations. Collaborates with functional leadership and cross-functional teams (e.g., Categories, Customer Experience, Merchandising) to develop consultative solutions for multiple projects for a business area, category, or prototype. Interacts daily and collaborates with external business partners and vendors.

Minimum education and experience required: : Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics or a related field.

Skills required: Must have experience with: Designing linear programming optimization models to produce optimal solutions for SKU stocking strategy; Working with and visualizing large data sets and with Tableau/Power BI; Leveraging SQL (Teradata or Big Query) to create meaningful insights for business innovation; Network designing including multi-echelon inventory optimization; Inventory replenishment systems (JDA or SAP); Cost-to-Serve modelling across network spanning over FC/DC/Cross-Dock nodes; OMS (Order Management System) flow design; Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to draft labor planning budgets and annual operations plans; Creating safety stock prediction models; Statistical process control to ensure existing and upcoming processes retain quality and variance in outputs is with the tolerance; Implementing Design of Experiments (DoE) with proof of concepts (POC) or prototype design.
