Purpose and Essential Duties

The VP of Integrated Solutions Design effectively leads, delegates, and supports the development of practices, procedures, and systems to support a continuously improving and profitable engineering organization.

Specific responsibilities include:

+ Reports directly to the Executive Vice President, IS Engineering and ensures all corporate objectives as delivered by the Executive Vice President, IS Engineering are communicated and Implemented on all teams and projects.

+ Responsible for providing feedback to support the development of operating budgets for IS Design.

+ Responsible for meeting the established operating budgets for IS Design.

+ Responsible for meeting, or exceeding, the financial expectations, budgets, and goals for IS Design projects, including preparing and maintaining budgets, monitoring and reviewing resource utilization, efficiency, and productivity.

+ Implements quality control plans for design and construction administration deliverables.

+ Responsible for coordinating IS Design resources across all IS Delivery projects to achieve the overall objectives – Safety, Outcome, Schedule, and Cost.

+ Responsible for coordinating Engineering Design schedules and resources to accommodate requested support on IS Development projects.

+ Support Pre-Engineering with resources, technical knowledge, scoping, and review on proposed projects to increase overall quality of our Bernhard Advantage offering.

+ Initiates productivity improvements throughout IS Design to ensure that the Delivery objectives (Safety, Outcome, Schedule, and Cost), the company’s standards and the project requirements are met.

+ Responsible for, and serves as a role model for, building and promoting a company culture of safety, innovation, teamwork, ethics, trust, and inclusion.

+ Provides advice, guidance, and direction for leadership and talent development within IS Design including a focus on maintaining, thorough communications, delegation of responsibility and delegation of authority. Success is measured through the development of competent leadership and technical expertise.

+ Maintains consistency and continuity in IS project execution by overseeing the creation, and maintenance of, IS Engineering standards.

+ Performs additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the company or as directed by the Executive Vice President, IS Engineering.

This position is Full Time, Exempt, and reports to Executive Vice President, IS Engineering.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management with 7+ years’ of engineering leadership experience.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.

+ Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

+ Well versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.

+ Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications

+ Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification

+ Professional Engineer License

Travel Requirements

30% of time will be spent traveling to jobsites/office locations.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

+ The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office environment.

+ Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
