Purpose and Essential Duties

The HVAC Services Lead Technician (Tech 5) will provide local market sales support, technical service delivery, technician development and training. The Lead Technician is considered the local market Subject Matter Expert for chiller, controls, or mechanical service disciplines. The Lead Technician contributes to local market profitability by assisting the Service Coordinator in the following: coordinating and developing the team on how to profitably execute work, communicate effectively with sub-contractors and customers, understand how their actions impact job profitability and cash flow, and maintain customer satisfaction. Specific responsibilities include:

+ Support sales in estimating

+ Support Service Coordinator in scheduling and coordinating work

+ Support technicians in complex technical issues

+ Installation and commission of a wide variety of HVAC equipment

+ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of HVAC equipment

+ Perform maintenance of HVAC equipment such as atmospheric boiler, water cooled chiller

+ Establish and maintain clear communications with customers while both on and off the customer job sites

+ Assist in maintaining inventory and tool procurement for all technicians

+ Promote and perform all aspects of BMCC’s safety procedures and policies

This position is Full Time, Exempt, and reports to Service Manager.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications

+ Skills of Level 4 Technician in addition to those listed below.

+ Current Licensed Technician (mandatory) or verifiable experience in service of commercial HVAC Holds EPA Certification.

+ Steam boiler/system maintenance, troubleshooting, service including setting comb

+ Chiller rebuild experience.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.

+ Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.

+ Well versed in the industry and the Company’s competitors.

+ Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

Travel Requirements

+ Infrequent travel to Company or client locations. Approximately 10% of the time will be spent traveling.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

Essential

+ Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs, be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb, kneel and twist. Must be able to climb ladders, work both inside and outside, and around moving equipment safely.
