The Category Consultant will serve as a key constituent to internal team members, management & external customers; Success in the role will be defined as the development and implementation of category initiatives to meet and exceed Hershey and customer financial objectives. The Category Consultant will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel category growth. Key to role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive category growth across the store. The Category Consultant will work closely with the Manager, Category Management, Team Lead, CSE and the customer to influence the development and implementation of category strategy & initiatives at Walmart.
Acts as the Category Expert and Trusted Partner to ensure the execution of Strategic Business Plan using Business Development Planning Process to make topline sales plan, net sales goals and achieve sales share targets.
Collaboratively work with the retailer, sales counterparts and cross function business teams to uncover insights and build action plans to drive profitable market share growth.
Act as the indispensable consultative partner internally and externally, driving projects to achieve Hershey and customer financial objectives. Isolate potential growth opportunities for both the category and Hershey.
Effectively penetrate horizontally and vertically to align key stakeholders on category lead initiatives.
Utilization and application of traditional category management tools including, but not limited to: Luminate, Numerator, Syndicated Data (Circana, Nielsen OVT), JDA (Space Management), Power BI, Tableau Reporting and internal business planning/forecasting tools to ensure the execution and support of strategic business plan.
Support Hershey Category Management and Sales Leader in the business planning process with strategy that is mutually beneficial to the customer and Hershey.
Proven ability to broadly impact organizations and drive sustainable growth.
Customer facing experience.
Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment.
Strong problem solving and project management skills, proven ability to work on multiple assignments at once.
