As a Food Safety Manager you’ll make our Memphis, TN plant safe by ensuring the development, compliance and certification of food safety programs and reporting to the Quality and Food Safety Manager in the execution of company programs. HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING+ Prioritizing Food Safety Policies – You will be responsible for the development, compliance, and certification of HACCP and other food safety programs for the facility. You will be delivering the required standards of food safety according to both Kellogg and Regulatory policies, procedures, and practices.
+ Strengthening Partnerships – Collaborate with Quality and Sanitation team members to assure successful program implementations and the use of best practices. You’ll also work closely with other plant employees to ensure compliance and identify food safety risks. With strong people skills and an eye for details, you’ll help us reach new heights.
+ Emphasizing Best Practices – With a continuous improvement mindset, you will be confirming adherence to required food safety laws, regulations, corporate policies, and practices.
+ Managing People and Team Leadership – Supervise technicians and lead cross-functional teams by being responsible for maintaining food safety in a 24/7 operation. We want you to leverage your management skills and strong ability to influence! You’ll develop, inspire, and energize the team towards a high standard of performance and self-accountability. + Providing Cross-Functional Training – You will be accountable for food safety for all hours of operation and providing training for HACCP and food safety insuring compliance and execution of required programs. You will also ensure the plant is being held accountable to all standard work processes.
+ Managing Facility Audits – You will be managing facility inspections, traceability, testing, vendor auditing, and microbial program compliance. You will ensure key traceability, inspection program management, vendor management, and microbial program metrics are established, and deliver the established metrics and Key Performance Indicators
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS+ Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, and/or substantial experience in quality & food safety
+ Frequently demonstrated quality and food safety experience in a manufacturing environment
+ HACCP certified.
+ SQF Practitioner and PCQI certified.
+ Extensive knowledge of applicable regulations, including GMP and food safety standards in accordance with the FDA, USDA and CFIA
+ Strong auditing and assessment skills with strong technical and software knowledge
+ People and process management experience
+ Strong written & verbal communication skills
+ Proven ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.
