Essential Job Functions: · Provide leadership, guidance and training to lab personnel. This position includes reviewing data from other technicians either on the same crew or in the assigned area. · Demonstrate sufficient math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing. · Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), multi-task, and team build. · Participates in the training and re-training of technicians on procedures and equipment. · Knowledge and understanding of lab instrumentation software in order to effectively troubleshoot issues after hours and on weekends. Perform equipment and method qualifications as required. · Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures. · Trend and maintain results within the lab’s electronic systems. · Develop, implement, improve, revise, and audit Standard Operating Procedures. · Provide Leadership in the Laboratory Safety Program and Chemical Compliance Program. Active support of overall facility safety programs and Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by complying with all department and plant safety policies. Understands that accidents are preventable and that safety is everyone’s responsibility. · Reacts immediately to eliminate any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts. Additionally insures that any accidents, injuries and near misses are reported immediately to area supervision. Actively assists department management in resolution of Safety Observation Reports or other identified issues. · Will work with supervision to ensure that Laboratory is in a constant state of readiness for all regulatory and customer audit inspections and work with laboratory and quality management to ensure that a high level of product quality and integrity is achieved and maintained. · Willingness and ability to work within the time demands of a 24/7/365 workday operation. · Demonstrated ability to accept instruction and coaching as tools for training and continuous improvement. · Demonstrated computer skills · Other duties as assigned by department management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education / Experience: · Degree in a science discipline or equivalent experience. Special Skills: · Working knowledge of cGMP and other regulatory requirements. · Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation showing an aptitude for equipment troubleshooting and minor maintenance. · Familiarity with LIMS and Lab Networking Software such as Chromeleon or EZ Chrom. · Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
