Autonomous Vehicle Engineer (Memphis, TN)
Smart Airport Systems (SAS) is a sister company of TLD with the mission of promoting products, services, and solutions to enhance airport operations, safety, and environmental impact. By implementing the innovative TractEasy products, you can help SAS airport operations with being future-ready. TractEasy is a driverless baggage tractor that allows labor and maintenance savings by moving cargo autonomously while staying fully compliant with the latest standard in airports operation. POSITION SUMMARY Smart Airport Systems is looking for a motivated individual, interested by innovative transportation and technologies. This position is your chance to help revolutionize the freight transportation at airports with our autonomous TractEasy tractor. The Autonomous Vehicle Engineer is responsible for all the deployment activities of TractEasy at airports. If you are looking to work on state-of the-art high tech products, then this position is for you. It requires a proactive mindset and autonomy in the organization of your work, in order to match the team’s and customers’ expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(Other duties may be assigned)+ Deployment of a driverless vehicle (TractEasy – autonomous baggage tractor) on key customer airports (primarily, Memphis airport)
+ Vehicle route setup, testing and validation.
+ Customer site requirements analysis and overall feasibility assessment.
+ Customer site risk assessment.
+ Troubleshooting vehicle breakdowns and software configurations
+ Perform mechanical or electrical modifications as part of the R&D activity.
+ Perform repairs and check the proper functioning of vehicles.
+ Supervise repairs involving external service providers
+ Perform the calibration, adjustment and parameterization operations for the various vehicle components.
+ Perform vehicle software updates and firmware updates on electronic equipment.
+ On-site training of vehicle operators and maintenance personnel.
+ Formalize feedback to benefit product evolutions and deployment best practices
+ Other assignments as designated by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:To perform this job successfully, the Autonomous Vehicle Engineer will need:+ Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics
+ Interested by innovative transportation and technologies.
+ Prior automotive / robotics / related IT integration work experience preferred, but not mandatory
+ Data collection, reporting, testing experience
+ Able to perform complex tasks and work onsite in a variety of conditions
+ Attention to detail and well organized
+ Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and decentralized environment.
+ Service and client oriented, sense of initiative, objective driven
+ Ability to self-direct and independently manage and properly record project progress
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:+ Good communication (verbal and written)
+ Ability to work in a team environment
+ Valid Driving License
