Project Manager – Electric Distribution & Transmission Construction

Essential Functions:

+ Assist the foremen, from a developmental standpoint, in the planning and execution of field deliverables according to plans, drawings, schedules, customer specifications and contract requirements

+ Assist the Superintendents and General Foreman in the planning and execution of projects and contracts by organizing work methods, developing schedules, overseeing the implementation of project procedures, implementing cost controls, and reporting

+ Assist in the management of financial components including identification of potential change orders and the schedule of the project as it relates to safety, and margin expectations.

+ Assist with as-built submissions

+ Develop existing and new Foreman focusing specifically on safety, job cost, and revenue capture

+ Assist GF with monitoring the progress of crews to insure satisfactory job completion, keeping construction progress in line with overall project schedule and cost estimate

+ Evaluate yard efficiency and effectiveness

+ Evaluate and communicate proper tool usage leading to reduced repair costs

+ Evaluate and recommend solutions regarding the communication of a decentralized workforce

+ Evaluate and provide recommendations of the flow of information from inception to delivery of items such as but not limited to, payroll, revenue recognition, subcontractor value (getting what we paid for)

+ Elevate visibility into job performance by removing job costs from the yard

+ All other duties as assigned

Decision Making and Problem Solving:

+ Basic understanding of Utility Industry standards and practices

+ Ability to interpret field conditions and communicate project requirements

+ Ability to develop and communicate ideas regarding the execution of the project

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Basic understanding of the project life cycle

+ Ability to apply basic project management concepts, and methodologies

+ Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel

+ Proficient of financial practices and principles

+ High attention to detail and organization

+ Basic technical skills

+ Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum supervision

Education: AA degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred. Certificates: Desired: Project Management Certificate from an accredited school or Project Management Institute. PMP preferred. The position is full time and salaried. We offer a competitive salary.
