The Psychology program, which resides within the Social and Behavioral Sciences department in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) at Texas A&M University-Texarkana (TAMUT), is seeking an outstanding candidate at the Assistant professor rank for a tenure-track position to begin Fall 2023. The ideal candidate is one who specializes in, or has experience teaching, courses related to Clinical and/or Counseling Psychology. The successful candidate will teach four undergraduate and/or master’s-level courses during each long semester, maintain an active research agenda in their area of specialty, and serve the university in a variety of capacities.
The Psychology program is historically one of the most robust programs at TAMUT, with roughly 160 students enrolled. In addition to offering both undergraduate (B.A. / B.S.) and master’s (M.S.) degrees in psychology, with course sizes typically maxed at 30 students, the psychology program supports faculty research with dedicated research facilities, a participant pool, and encourages undergraduate and graduate research as part of experiential learning for high-impact practices in teaching and mentoring.
TAMUT is located in beautiful East Texas, midway between Dallas, Texas, and Little Rock, Arkansas. It was established in 1971 and became a member of the Texas A&M University System in 1996. In 2010, the university moved to the newly constructed Bringle Lake campus when it downward expanded. Currently, our university is home to approximately 2200 undergraduate, master’s-level and doctoral students.
