The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will be a part of a larger business intelligence team designed to support our call center operations across multiple lines of business and product segments. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. This role will be responsible for creating data sets using SQL that then can be transformed into power bi reports for further analytics. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The insights you provide will influence department’s strategy and help define best practices and design standards.

Responsibilities

+ Power BI development and administration

+ Assist with best practices and business intelligence standards

+ Data analysis of voice of the customer metrics , and operational performance

+ Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards

+ Connecting to data sources, importing and transforming data

+ Evaluate data sets; interrogate the data to find and understand anomalies and / or outliers; implement quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy data

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

+ Comprehensive knowledge of Power BI, Power Query and/or DAX

+ Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations including query languages SQL/PLSQL

+ Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

+ Experience with call center metrics, KPIs, and operational performance strategy

+ Experience in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

+ Experience with Python Java or other programming languages

+ Able to communicate and present technical details to senior and executive leadership

+ Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

+ Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

+ Experience with Call Center operations

+ Certifications for Power BI or Tableau

+ Experience developing in the Microsoft Power platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate and SharePoint Online

+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud Services

+ Strong background in front-end design, methodologies, and development

+ Expertise in data mining, text mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

+ Experience creating analytics solutions for operational teams

Additional Information

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

+ Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

+ Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
