JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The ServiceNow Discovery/Service Mapping Consultant is part of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) team. This individual will work with technical SME’s to gather technical requirements as needed for creation and maintenance of Service Maps within ServiceNow. The ServiceNow Discovery/Service Mapping Consultant plays a key role for the collection of configuration data that makes up a Service. Additionally, the Service Mapping Consultant will work with ITSM teams to understand process requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Service Mapping implementation.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Lead service mapping initiatives to established service maps for critical services and applications
+ Work with systems managers to ensure that the Discovery tool has the appropriate access and permissions to capture configuration information.
+ Provide visibility to the performance and issues related to Discovery via the development and deployment of unified CMDB dashboards.
+ Support IT Service Management & IT Asset Management Configuration Management practice
+ Maintain the integrity of the Service Mapping tool across production and non-production environments
+ Review the data being populated into the CMDB and act as partial owner of the CMDB
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education and experience required of the position.
IT Specialist Sr:Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or business-related field and 4+ years of relevant experience is required, or in lieu of a degree 8+ years of relevant experience is required in ServiceNow CMDB and IT Service Management practices.
IT Consultant:Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or business-related field and 6+ years of relevant experience is required, or in lieu of a degree 10+ years of relevant experience is required in ServiceNow CMDB and IT Service Management practices.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
+ Experience with CMDB Health, Process, governance, and integration
+ Experience in designing, developing, and implementing automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining CMDB data
+ Familiarity configuring and using ServiceNow MID servers and discovery patterns.
+ Javascript proficiency
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities
+ Knowledge and/or experience with Linux, Windows, and SQL commands necessary to build out applicable patterns.
+ Familiarity with web application development to help you know how to traverse those layers in service map patterns.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist: Service Mapping is a plus
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist: Discovery is a plus
