The College of Business, Engineering, and Technology (CBET) at Texas A&M University-Texarkana invites applications for a 9-month faculty position in accounting at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor (tenure track), or Associate Professor (tenure track). This position will begin Spring 2023 or Fall 2023. The position is responsible for a 3/4 courseload with the possibility of teaching summer courses. Teaching load for Instructor is 5/5. Courses include introductory, upper-level, and MBA (for Assistant and Associate Professor rank) classes in accounting in both traditional classroom settings and online.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Teach assigned courses and laboratories through various modalities

+ Demonstrated ability or potential to conduct quality scholarly research (Assistant/Associate Professor rank)

+ Work collaboratively with faculty across disciplines

+ Contribute to curriculum and course development

+ Serve on department, college, and university committees assigned by the Dean

+ Advise students

+ Provide service to the department, college, university, and community

+ Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning with research, best practices in teaching, and technological applications in the classroom, including online teaching

+ Other duties as assigned by the Dean

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum Qualifications

Instructor Rank

+ MSA or MBA degree with an emphasis in Accounting from an AACSB accredited university (at least 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting)

+ Ability to teach a variety of courses within our BBA degree in Accounting

+ Commitment to high quality teaching, dedication to high standards, and student success

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals

Assistant/Associate Professor Rank

+ Earned doctorate in Accounting from an AACSB accredited university (ABDs with confirmed doctoral dissertation defense dates will also be considered at the rank of Instructor until the doctorate is conferred)

+ Ability to teach a variety of courses within our BBA and MSA degrees in Accounting

+ Commitment to high quality teaching, dedication to high standards, and student success

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals

+ Demonstrated ability or potential to conduct scholarly research

+ For the rank of Associate Professor, commensurate teaching, and research experience

Preferred Qualifications (any rank)

+ CPA certification, especially for the rank of Instructor

+ Professional accounting experience (non-academic)

+ Experience in teaching upper or lower division courses at the university level utilizing current supporting technologies

+ Experience teaching online and face-to-face

+ Familiarity with accreditation processes (e.g., SACSCOC, AACSB) and assessment, including data collection, organization, and analysis

+ Commitment to connect students with the accounting profession
