POSITION SUMMARY In this highly visible and exciting role, the Manager of Revenue Accounting will be a leader in all issues related to the accounting and reporting of revenue. This position will be a trusted technical accounting advisor on revenue recognition for sales, finance, and construction operations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, results oriented, collaborative, and excellent at communication. The position will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting and will lead revenue accounting and cost tracking for the company Smart Building Platform business. The Manager of Revenue Accounting, requires an in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, experience with SOX, and strong motivation to deliver efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting processes. The position will assist with establishing the processes and building out the accounting structure required to support the rapidly expanding Smart Building Platform business. Key business partnering relationships include: Construction management, Customer Success, Shared Services, and Technical accounting/reporting on contract review and control execution to ensure revenue recognition and financial reporting goals are met. This position is designated remote with the expectation of becoming hybrid as business needs dictate. (Memphis domicile) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Review contracts and analyze revenue recognition arrangements to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and related US GAAP pronouncements and company policy

+ Lead development and ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively, and ensure maintenance of control documentation for revenue related processes

+ Lead, coach and mentor direct reports with a focus on personal and career development

+ Own month-end and quarter-end construction project level cost / related accrual /revenue input close processes

+ Partner with Construction Management & Sales to ensure complete and accurate construction cost assumptions

+ Prepare and develop complex account reconciliations for subcontract accrual, unbilled AR and other related accounts for the Construction revenue

+ Initiate, review and implement process improvements and automation to the Smart Building Platform process to increase operational efficiencies while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the underlying accounting records

+ Partner with cross functional business partners (Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Order Management, Billing, Business Process) to ensure contract compliance, develop policies, automation and 360 feedback on process improvements

+ Provide audit support for control and substantive testing

+ Assist the revenue accounting team with ad hoc research, reporting, and projects

+ Support the continuing enhancement of current systems and the rollout of other future system implementations


+ 7-10 years combined Big 4 and/ or Industry Accounting Experience

+ Minimum one year of people leadership experience

+ Demonstrated technical accounting application skills and SOX accounting standards

+ Ability to work in cross functional teams to build relationships and achieve common goals

+ Ability and desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment where adaptability is a cornerstone to success

+ Experience with construction revenue is a plus

+ CPA preferred, not required


+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

+ MBA or Master of Accounting preferred
