Centria, a Nucor Company, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Machine Operator. Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut slots and notches from bends, etc., onto steel sheets or parts. Set-up includes making changeovers to tooling and dies, as well as any other machinery or fixed equipment such as saws. Operate means to perform proper input of required information, understand bills of materials, tooling functions, and drawings. Must be able to perform quality checks and instruct/lead line personnel to facilitate continuous line operations ; perform some preventative maintenance on equipment; accurate reporting of production time, material usage and various other paperwork/reports involved in the process. Perform other duties and operations in the department as needed. Will be lifting 50 – 90 lbs. throughout the workday. Range of motion will include squatting, bending, standing, walking and reaching.[[cust_safetyState]]
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
+ Must possess product knowledge in order to perform quality inspections on equipment and product.
+ Must be able to operate forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws and various departmental equipment.
+ Must be able to read drawing and/or blueprints.
+ Must be able to use measuring instruments.
+ Must be able to direct teammates.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Must be safety conscious.
+ Must be willing/able to work overtime and available to work all shifts.
+ Must possess a mechanical aptitude.
+ Must have a good attendance record.
+ Must be a responsible individual who is a self-starter.
+ Must be detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
+ Must be able to work effectively within a team envrionment.
