Background & Purpose of the JobThe Walmart eCommerce Category Strategy Manager primary responsibility will be translating the needs and wants of the omni shopper and the landscape of the ecommerce market into winning category management solutions that enable sustainable growth at Walmart ?
+ You will leverage insights about shopper attitudes and behaviors online and combine them with both your category expertise and the operational realities of retail to recommend short term executions and long-range planning to accelerate growth for Walmart.? ?
+ You will provide leadership in the integration of ecommerce insights with Walmart by building deep relationships built on category objectivity and a shopper-centric approach to create plans that deliver against their KPIs ?
+ You will lead the continued best practice development of translating foundational category management principles from offline to online – including optimizing assortment, space allocation, and visual merchandising? ?
+ You will ensure that all the Category Management team’s recommendations are developed through a full omnichannel approach and will be the leading voice to drive future-fit skill development to embed an omni-approach to all analysis and plans ?
+ You will be a cross-functional partner with both the traditional category management teams, as well as Unilever’s eCommerce COE cross-functional partners. You will be responsible for understanding current capabilities and partner to identify future capabilities where data assets can be leveraged to drive Walmart growth ?
+ You will leverage multiple data sources to manipulate and analyze customer data, syndicated, panel, social, and proprietary shopper research to identify growth opportunities ?
+ ?You must be strategic, collaborative, and analytical with a passion for making the complicated simple and for connecting business to data that drives category sales now and in the futureWhat You’ll Do Who You Are & What You’ll Do: ?
+ You’re a story teller : You will have access to one of the industry’s most-robust data sources to turn insights into action by providing differentiated thought leadership delivered through simplified stories to gain acceptance and adoption of category strategies. ?
+ You’re a strategy specialist: You’re able to develop plans for execution and engagement with appropriate customer contact points, timing, & content based on industry research and Unilever knowledge ?
+ You’re a fortune teller / visionary / oracle: Figuring out problems with limited direction doesn’t faze you. You have the intuition to anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting to develop and translate insight into retail action ?
+ You’re a dot connector: You will penetrate multiple cross-functional teams and the customer to define priorities, objectives, and successfully influence actions plans, specific to Walmart’s business plans. ?
+ You’re an innovator: You have a healthy dissatisfaction for the status quo and through access to cutting edge capabilities and tools, you will set a constant eye on the future to garner insights and develop solutions that drive incremental growth for Walmart and Unilever. ?Who You Are & What You’ll Need to Succeed:
+ Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred ?
+ Minimum 3 years’ experience in eCommerce, Category Management, Insights, or Sales Strategy ?
+ CPG experience required; Walmart experience strongly preferred? ?
+ Experience strategically penetrating, persuading, and influencing internal and external touchpoints through clear, cogent, and concise communication? ?
+ Expertise in linking analytics via traditional data sources with cutting edge capabilities and tools to develop planning insights into action ?
+ Capability to develop strategy at both retailer and manufacturer level ?
+ Strong understanding of ecommerce, category management principles shopper insights, corporate strategy, and retailer strategy, operations, and planning ?
+ Experience in assortment and merchandising theory and application ?
+ Strong understanding of various data sources (Nielsen, IRI, Household Panel, Loyalty Card Data) ?
