Background & Purpose of the Job

The Category Modular Analyst performs a valuable role in supporting the category advisor team and building a strong partnership with Wal-Mart by providing merchandising solutions and decision support that drive growth for the Beauty business . This position will conduct high quality analysis and synthesis of multi-source data to evaluate item performance, assortment planning and store clustering through the modular process , while leveraging effective communication & influencing to orchestrate action within the operational realities of the Wal-Mart environment. What You’ll Do

+ Ability to support large Planogram drawing projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines is essential to be successful in this position.

+ Assist with assortment precision clustering to define optimal assortment and make aisle flow recommendations .

+ This position will assist in managing the modular output of the Integrated Hair Care category, including:

+ Maintain confidentiality of restricted customer information and develop a reputation as a category expert.

+ Attending buyer meetings, build trusted relationships with merchants, assortment recommendations, space 2 sales recommendations, and all space planning initiatives

+ Establish and deliver best-in-class merchandising recommendations, leveraging tools such as JDA and planogram automation to help drive efficacies and accuracy

+ Be the information expert to populate planograms to build the most efficient and productive planograms

+ Use product knowledge, fixture utilization, DOS, modular capacity, and consumer shopping behaviors to maximize modular efficiencies

+ Make recommendations to the team to optimize space, assortment, etc. based on data

+ Responsible for ongoing maintenance of planogram tools (such as product images, product library , planogram automation etc )

+ During the off modular cycle, this role will participate in gathering shopper and customer insights to help develop and drive category strategies, drive assortment, distribution, category placement and aisle recommendations.

+ Ensure continual training and development to enhance business knowledge and analytical skills

Who You Are & What You’ll Need to Succeed:

+ Bachelor’s Degree required

+ Minimum 3 years of experience in Category Management or Customer Management Insights

+ Expertise in JDA and assortment planning

+ CPG experience required; Walmart experience preferred

+ Knowledge & application of syndicated data sources (Nielsen, IRI, Household Panel, Loyalty Card Data

+ Excellent planning, analytical, communication skills required,?Strong PowerPoint, Excel and presentation skills
