Purpose: Operates a doctor machine, reworking individual print rolls to remove or correct any defects and producing rolls adhering to required specifications.
+ Obtains updated work schedule and determines appropriate footage, unwind roll configuration using code number from production order and unwind roll chart and remains alert for any order changes.
+ Determines job identification/description and order number for impending job.
+ Transfers printed roll to unwind cradle by using hoist.
+ Threads machine with material and adjusts lay-on roll pressure, unwind brake, web guide sensor and tension on dancer roll as required.
+ Uses defect detection systems to ensure print quality.
+ Removes, with knife, any defective material and splices together good material with a finished goods splice.
+ Maintains close visual contact with the defect detection system to determine previously undetected defects in printing.
+ Produces roll of print material with desired conformation and checks roll to ensure correct unwind configuration.
+ Weighs waste material and accurately records weight on work-in-process label.
+ Fills out roll lists, recording weights and roll numbers accurately, and attaches required material identification to the roll.
+ Transports print rolls to designated storage or holding area.
+ Maintains machinery and related equipment as prescribed.
+ Keeps work areas and related equipment in neat and orderly condition.
+ Cuts cores as needed.
+ Pin code setup and application on various substrates
+ Understand quality disposition process
+ Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
+ High School education or GED
+ Understanding of quality standardsSkills, Abilities, and Competencies
+ Ability to read and comprehend production orders
+ Ability to analyze and solve problems
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills
