Job Description

Position Overview

+ Support OSR’s, WSM, National Accounts & other UTCs with sale of used trucks

+ Run/start/move all retail ready trucks monthly and others every 60 days

+ Perform extended test drives as needed

+ Generate purchase orders for recon/detail/towing/upfit as needed

+ Generate purchase orders for recon parts and consumables as needed

+ Transport trucks to and from service providers

+ Assist with delivery of sold units as needed

+ Set parameters, diagnose CELs, perform forced regens, update ECM/BCM as needed

+ Replace batteries, clean cables as needed

+ Add fuel when needed

+ Perform minor repairs (headlights, grilles, marker lights, steering wheel switches geo tabs, GPS trackers, etc.) as needed

+ Inspect new inventory upon arrival, write up discrepancies, generate bar code labels and key tags

+ Lot

+ Organize trucks as directed by GM

+ Keep yard clean and presentable

+ Sweep covered bays weekly

+ Inspect fencing & lighting weekly for integrity

+ Warehouse

+ Keep consumable inventory area clean, neat, & organized

+ Keep tool bin and workbench organized

+ Dispose of small trash daily, pallets weekly

+ Sweep floor weekly

+ Log battery, warning triangles, & fire extinguisher disbursement by VIN

+ Lot truck

+ Keep a maintenance log on the share drive to track oil changes

+ Replenish diesel tank weekly or more often if needed

+ Clean exterior and interior weekly

+ White board – truck movement

+ Update daily with truck VINs

+ Visit local vendors weekly to physically confirm accuracy

+ Maintain CDL

+ Time entry / DAX / Parts access / Battery orders / Oil, anti-freeze, DEF

Minimum Requirements

+ Associate’s degree

+ At least 1 year of technical truck/automotive experience


+ At least 2 years of technical truck/automotive experience

Additional Requirements

+ Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

+ CDL class A or B, or be able to acquire CDL

+ Computer literate, familiar with MS Office

+ Mechanical aptitude, able to use basic hand tools

+ Be organized. Will be keeping track of consumable via a log
