Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

A Sr. Energy Analyst – Procurement works directly with Bernhard’s Clients to evaluate cost, consumption and measure savings related to procurement of natural gas and electricity.

Bernhard’s Sr. Energy Analyst – Procurement responsibilities include utility analyses and procurement of natural gas and electricity in support of Bernhard’s Commodity Services offerings for customers or internal projects. Responsibilities may include the following:

+ Oversees and manages all assigned projects including utility rate analyses, energy procurement and other energy supply-side services.

+ Coordinates with customers, external resources, and internal team members to ensure that the customer requirements have been accurately documented and addressed.

+ Reviews utility invoices for errors and assist in disputing errors with the utility on behalf on the customer.

+ Produces, reviews, and analyzes client’s monthly and quarterly commodity management reports.

+ Produces, reviews, and communicates utility budgets for customers.

+ Attends training classes and webinars to stay current on utility trends, including hedging strategies, demand response programs, renewable energy credits and carbon offsets.

+ Develops request for proposal (RFP) documents, responds to questions and communicates results and recommendation to customers.

+ Assists the customer with commodity contract extensions or renewals.

+ Provides market analysis to customers.

+ Performs the assigned duties with minimum supervision, while working in a team problem-solving environment.

+ Upholds BTME’s owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.

+ Other duties as assigned/required.

This position is full-time, exempt.

Travel Requirements:

Expected to travel up to 10% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Business, Economics, or a related field or related work experience.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications.

+ 3+ years’ experience in energy or related field.

+ Analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Certified Energy Manager or Certified Energy Procurement Professional

+ Experience in deregulated energy markets.

+ Experience with energy efficiency programs.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

+ The ability to sit and or stand for long periods of time at a desk. The ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb on job sites as needed. The ability to lift up to 15lbs.
