Department's Website: of Job Duties:The School of Art, in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, invites applications for a non-tenure-track teaching assistant professor in graphic design to start in August 2022. This is a standard 9-month teaching faculty appointment.

The teaching assistant professor will teach an equivalent of a 3/3 teaching load in the Graphic Design BFA program, the Master of Design program, and/or the School of Art Foundations program. Initial appointment is for a period of three academic years. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need. The position also includes the opportunity for eventual promotion to Associate Professor and Full Professor at the Teaching Professor rank.

We seek a candidate who demonstrates curiosity in emerging technologies, novel design methods, and providing students with opportunities to expand their understanding of design in the world. The ideal candidate would be able to teach a wide variety of topics and courses, such as image making, typography, identity design, user experience, and design research. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have expertise in, and experience teaching, motion design, interaction design, data visualization, AR/VR and other emerging technologies.
