Texas A&M University – Texarkana, a member of the Texas A&M University System, is a dynamic and growing regional comprehensive university serving over 2,000 students. Since its founding in 1971 as East Texas State University, A&M-Texarkana has been known for its emphasis on student-centered, experiential education. Expanding in 2010 from upper-division undergraduate and master’s programs to lower-division undergraduate and doctoral offerings, the campus has maintained its friendly atmosphere, small class sizes, and commitment to traditional and non-traditional students. A comprehensive student life program ensures a full collegiate experience for residential students, and an annual thematic community engagement program offers educational enrichment for the campus and wider community.
