Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$129,600.00 – $213,800.00

Sr Director, Actuarial & Analytics – BI Actuarial Product Liability: We are looking for someone who is excited to be a change agent and driven to provide Analytics Leadership as well as provide enhancements to the process through which our analytics are created and delivered. This Senior Director role is responsible for Liability Pricing Analytics in partnership with the Analytics and Research team, with a focus on continuous improvement in Benchmark price capabilities. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to provide a business perspective to our analytics development while thinking more broadly about how to enhance the overall value provided by the pricing analytics team. This high visibility work includes taking a lead role in developing these changes in partnership with peers in the other lines and others supporting the Benchmark portfolio of tools and metrics. The role will lead Benchmark advancements in coordination with other lines of business in Actuarial Product, as well as review and analyze the connections between rate adequacy and benchmark views of profitability. This role requires the ability to generate and solicit ideas and build consensus in a cross functional environment – collaborating with partners on other Actuarial Product teams, the Analytic and Research teams, the data delivery teams, the Business Insurance Product team, as well as the business unit actuarial teams in support of line management. This is a leadership role that manages a small team of experienced actuaries, while also requiring hands on work in the analysis. Prior pricing analytics and/or data science experience is a plus.

Specific responsibilities include:

+ Lead and drive execution of several components of Liability Benchmark initiatives, including partnering with A&R on model development and enhancements and with technical teams to implement the models

+ Be a voice in overall Benchmark and pricing advancement efforts through partnership with peers in the other lines as well as involvement in Advancing the Science of Rate Adequacy (ASRA) efforts

+ Lead / Coordinate benchmark refresh and remodel efforts

+ Participate in work to reconcile rate adequacy with benchmark reporting results as needed

+ Participate in discussions regarding line management

+ Assist in executing directed strategy or recommending strategy to improve profitability

+ Assist in putting together recommendations for Business Insurance Leadership

+ Partner with BU Actuarial, BCO, BI A&R, and other lines in Actuarial Product to support the needs of the business

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

+ College degree in STEM related field.

+ Associate Actuarial Credential preferred.

+ 8+ years of quantitative analysis experience.

+ Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.

+ Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts.

+ Leadership experience.

+ Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.

+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and translate complex information to leadership and non-technical teams.

+ Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (eg. SQL, SAS).

+ Leadership:
