The Director, Group Medicare Sales sells health insurance and related products to new large group accounts (generally 300+ contracts). The Director, Group Medicare Sales requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

The Director, Group Medicare Sales fully understands all product lines, sells to targeted clients, and identifies potential new clients in a specified territory or geographic area. Decisions are typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance. Provides input into functions strategy.

Responsibilities

Role Essentials

+ Bachelor’s Degree

+ 5+ years prior successful sales experience in the health and wellness solutions industry working with large group segment brokers and employers

+ Active health and life insurance agent license

+ Excellent broker/consultant relationships within assigned health and wellness solutions sales region

+ Experience working with labor organizations

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Entrepreneurial and self-sufficient mind-set

+ Ability to travel regularly, by land and air, throughout defined sales region

Role Desirables

+ Master’s degree

+ 10+ years of business-to-business sales experience

+ Experience selling Medicare Advantage products.

+ Required location – Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Kansas , Minnesota, Nevada, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Utah, Hawaii, Missouri, Iowa, Louisiana

+ Travel: up to 30% travel with possible overnight stays

+ This role is part of Humana’s Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits.

+ Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home office, to ensure you have absolute and continuous privacy while you work.

+ Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10×1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.
